The care of beautiful things
01 A lasting relationship
A fine rug holds
more than a pattern.
It holds the hand of its maker, the character of a room, and the traces of life lived around it. Its care deserves attention to all three.
Established in 1925, Aziz Hamrah Oriental Rug Care Co. is a family-run business in North Plainfield, New Jersey. We care for fine Oriental rugs with an appreciation for their materials, construction and individuality.

Cleaning with understanding
The method follows
the rug.
Wool, silk, dye, age, structure. The details matter before cleaning begins.
We offer wet cleaning with a special delicate shampoo and an old-world dry method. The right approach depends on the rug in front of us: its fibres, colours, construction, existing repairs and condition.
Talk with us about your rug’s history, a recent spill, or a change you have noticed. That conversation helps frame the next step.

A family business, a lasting perspective
Some things deserve
to stay with us.
A rug can outlive a room, a house, even a generation. Since 1925, our family business has been part of the story of caring for these meaningful textiles.
We bring that perspective to everyday questions: how to clean a rug, what to do about worn fringe, and how to support it properly underfoot.
Our story & the world of rugsAn enduring art

Explore six woven traditionsCan you clean a delicate or antique rug?
Call us to discuss it. Age alone does not determine a cleaning method: fibre, dyes, construction, damage and past repairs all matter. Mention silk, fragile areas or colour changes before any work is planned.
Can worn fringe or a damaged edge be repaired?
Fringe replacement and edge binding are among our services. The appropriate repair depends on how the rug is made and where the wear occurs. Learn more on our repair page.
Do you make pads to fit individual rugs?
Yes. We offer high-quality synthetic rug pads custom fitted to rugs. Tell us the rug’s size and shape, the floor beneath it, and any door-clearance concerns. Explore rug pads.
