Aziz Hamrah Oriental Rug Care Co.
A family tradition.
A century in the making.
Established 1925.
Rooted in the care of fine rugs.
Our story
01 A lasting perspective
The longer view.
The personal detail.
Aziz Hamrah Oriental Rug Care Co. was established in 1925. We are a family-run rug care business at 527 Somerset Street in North Plainfield, New Jersey.
Our work centers on cleaning and repair of fine Oriental rugs, including fringe replacement and edge binding, alongside custom fitted synthetic rug pads.
The rugs people live with are personal. A familiar pattern can connect one room to another, or one generation to the next. Care begins with taking that significance seriously.

An art with many histories
Every rug belongs
to a wider story.
“Oriental rug” is a broad term. It brings together textiles from distinct regions, communities and workshops, with different structures, materials and visual languages.
Persian court carpets, Anatolian geometric fields, Caucasian designs and Central Asian repeating motifs are not a single tradition. Looking closely reveals relationships—and differences—that make each textile more interesting.
